The MOST useful PSP mod EVER CREATED! PANDORA'S BATTERY!

This news stunned me... and i couldnt hold my self and i yelled "TAKE THAT $ONY!" As i mentioned in my topic name it's BEST mod for psp ever created! I guess all of u, PSP owners probably know that there was a myths about "Magick Memory Stick" that sony has that they use to recover bricked PSPs? Now guess what! Noobz know how to make one, PLUS they share with all of u psp fans how to do it. With its help ull create MAGICK BATTERY, which can do all that magick stuff everyone needs!

But first i want to say what this Mod does:
(1)Wel, first of all it UNBRICKS ANY PSP that has ANY kind of brick!
(2)Second, it DOWNGRADES ANY(every time i think of it i crack a smile :D )ANY PSP VERSION! EVEN 3.71! From now on, sony will be a bankrupt! :D

Umkay. now required stuff:
(1) PSP. Either the bricked or the one that needs to be downgraded
(2) Working PSP with any custom firmware installed... 1.50 is recommended
(3) Devhook(only if u have custom firmware)
(4) A battery... i would reccomend u not to use the one that's in ur PSP, instead buy another one.
(5) Memory Stick, not less than 256MBs and not more than 8 Gigs. 512 Megs is recommended.
(6) Properly Working PC
(7) 1.50 Upgrade
(8) Pandora's Battery Fiels
(9) A/C Cord...but thats optional

Preparation

  1. You must begin by downloading the Pandoras Battery Downgrade Files. They can be found as an attachment at the bottom of this post.
  2. After you have downloaded and extracted pandorar.rar, place the files in an easy to locate directory, such as C:\pandora
  3. Turn on your PSP, and go to Settings -> System Settings -> Format Memory Stick. Make sure you have a backup of the contents prior to doing this.
After the format is complete, connect your PSP to your computer either by Memory Stick Pro Duo Reader, or by USB

K, now goes the trycky part for those who are not familiar with Command Prompt.
(1) Go to START->RUN and type in cmd and press Enter, command prompt will open
(2) Using command prompt ull have to locate ur pandora files, to do this type "cd <Destination of Pandora folder>"(w/o quotes), in my case it's C:/pandora.
(3)Once you've done previous step type "mspformat <Drive Letter of PSP>"(w/o quotes)
(4)If u've done everything correctly ull get a message like this "Formatting Erases all data, enter [Y] to continue..." press Y and then Enter.
WARNING: u cant format mem stick through command prompt in VISTA, it will give u an error, so u'll need to do either in XP or 98.
(5)After formating double click on the battery folder in "C:/pandora" and place all folders that inside "battery' folder into "ms0:/PSP/Game/"
since u've formatted your memory stick u will have to create those folders by your self.
(6) do the same to the installer folder
(7) Next u have to download 1.50 update. u can get it from evil psp at the manu at the right of the page.
(8) Rename it from EBOOT.PBP to UPDATE.PBP and put it to the root of the memory stick (ms0/) in my case it was "D:/UPDATE.PBP"
(9)When its done, Reconnect your PSP to your computer by memory stick reader, or USB.
(10) In the Root of ur memory stick there's should be a file called "misipl.bin" copy it and paste it to "C:/Pandora/msinst"
(11) Go to command prompt and locate msinst folder the way u locatedfiles in step 2 (C:/Pandora/msinst>)(type it EXAcTLY as u see it in pherentesees) Dont press Enter yet
(12)Then type"msinst X msipl.bin"(w/o quotes) X stands for your PSP Letter. Now press Enter
(13) After u see some text appearing press Y and Enter
(14) disconnect ur psp from ur PC and restart it, go to your GAMES->memory stick directory and select BATTERY FLASHER, when menu comes out select first option and press X.

Against popular belief that your battery is no longer able to function properly after the downgrade, your battery may be recovered successfully after you have completed the flashing process. I will explain that in more detail a bit later.

(15) K, now your battery and memory stick are ready for flashing!

FLASHING(aka USAGE)

(1) Get your bricked or to be downgraded psp.
(2)Insert the Memory Stick First, followed by the battery. The PSP may start automatically. If not, turn it on.
(3)The memory stick light should flash constant for about 1 second, and then flash intermittently after that. A menu should appear. Agree, and continue.
(4)Agree again
(5)In a minute or less your psp will turn off. Restart it, then your psp will be as if it never got bricked or as it never was higher than 1.50!

Note: If your PSP doesnt start when you turn it on, it is because your battery is a 'jigkick' now and will not function properly until formatted to its original state. Read on to fix the battery:

Bringin back your battery to it's normal state(nececerry if it's the only battery you have)
Note: If you have other battery, skip this part and enjoy your life! Oh, and put your flashed battery into safe place, so thatyour jelous friends wont steal it from you! :D
(1)Get your charger, and plug it in to the wall outlet.
(2) Remove flashed battery from your PSP
(3) Now connect Charger to your psp
(4)Turn on your psp
(5) When PSP is booted, put the battery back in the PSP
(6)Go to your battery launching application
(7) Start it. Once started, instead of X press [ ](square)
(8) Oce finished, restart your PSP and your battery is normal again.

FAQ
"For some reason, after I've done all the steps correctly, I load the memory stick into the battery with the jigkick battery. The power light turns on, but nothing else does. Not even a backlight!"

The problem is because you MUST not use Windows Vista on the Preparation steps. You MUST run mspformat and msinst form the command prompt as stated above correctly! Vista, because its from Microsoft will for some reason not carry this out successfully. You need to run the Preparation steps on an XP Computer.

You can either install

You can either install 3.71m33 right from 1.50 or install 3.71m33 with pandoras battery. It would be as much work to make the battery as it would to just go right to 3.71m33.
