Dark_AleX's Firmware 3.03 OE C Available!

PSP Firmware

Dark_Alex out of the blue drops another bomb on us that shows everyone how skilled & devoted he is to his projects.

He has been a huge contributor to the PSP homebrew community and keeps our PSP's happy all month long with this homebrew goodness! If you haven't updated to 3.03 OE-C here's all that of its updated abilities.

- AVC videos bitrate limit patched. The firmware limited the bitrate of avc videos to only 768 Kbps.
OE now forces the limit to be 16384 Kbps. (Note: this doesn't mean than the psp can handle such a high bitrate;
this means than they won't show error. I don't know which is the real maximum bitrate than the psp can handle at
full speed).
Speed of OE boot is now ~3 seconds faster than previous versions. (without plugins).
Cpu speed of XMB can now be changed.
Wifi can now work at 333 Mhz.
Added access to flashes 0 and 1 via usb in the recovery menu, based on the great idea of USBSSS by Booster.
Note that writing is enabled, so this is intended only for advanced users that know what they are doing in each moment.
(It is not a great idea to change anything from the kd folder).
Because of this addition, the rest of flashing options were removed.
PSP isos can now be deleted as any normal memstick games. (also the size of the iso now shows fine when you press triangle->information).
When formatting memory stick, GAME150, GAME303 and ISO directories will be automatically created.
Changes in internal HEN core:
* If a EBOOT.PBP with a plain DATA.PSP had a data.psar, modulemgr took as size of the executable the size
of data.psp+data.psar. Fixed. (this fix enables psx games to have plain data.psp without causing a memory error).
* Added a couple of patches found by Tyranid. One allows syscalls instructions to be used in kernel mode
without causing a crash. The other allows sceKernelQueryModuleInfo to work with sceInit and previous modules.

For changes in popstation, refer to popstation readme.

It can be only installed as a full installation, due to some substantial changes in the bootstrap.
Both, update maker and the flasher work in 1.50, 2.71 SE (whatever version), and 3.02/3.03 OE (whatever version)

The instructions are as always:

PLUG IN AND FULLY CHARGE YOUR PSP

- Copy oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker% to /PSP/GAME if you are in 1.50, or to /PSP/GAME150 if you are in
2.71 SE, 3.02 OE or 3.03 OE. Also copy the 1.50 and 3.03 updaters(Firmware EBOOTs) to /PSP/GAME/oeupdmaker folder if you are in 1.50, or to /PSP/GAME150/oeupdmaker if you are in 2.71 SE. Rename both firmware EBOOTS like this.

Firmware 1.50 EBOOT should be renamed to 150.PBP
Firmware 3.03 EBOOT should be renamed to 303.PBP

PLACE BOTH OF THESE FILES (150.PBP & 303.PBP) INSIDE /PSP/GAME150/oeupdmaker if you are running Firmware 2.71 SE, 3.02 OE or 3.03OE
IF YOU ARE ON OTHER FIRMWARE VERIONS (1.50 2.0) PLACE FILES INSIDE /PSP/GAME/oeupdmaker.

- Execute the update maker from your PSP. It will generate the DATA.DXAR file.

- Copy 303oeflasher and 303oeflasher% to /PSP/GAME (1.50) or to /PSP/GAME150 (2.71 SE, 3.0X OE).
Copy also the DATA.DXAR file inside 303oeflasher from /PSP/GAME/oeupdmaker.

- Execute the firmware flasher and follow the instructions.

and in step 7 i have to move the

using 3.03oe-b and trying to update to 3.03oe-c

Hey just having a lil problem about naming my folders and i have tried both "game" and "game150" and i get nothing with game150 but with game i got the update and it just crashes... anything you can help me out with. I have the firmware 1.5 and 3.03 and the correct folders. is there a quick installer for this on the pc that loads all the correct folders to the right places?

I have a psp and its already in ver 3.03 OE-C. At first evrything was fine, I was already trying new games but I have seem to have done something wrong coz my games just stop working. I got so angry so I reformat my mem stick..and poof still no good. can you please help me out. when I try to start a game a this message comes ou " the game could not be started (80020321)"...Im kinda an idiot with this...tnx

Battery Warning

Hey I got all the way to the last step "Execute the firmware and follow the instructions" but it then tells me the battery is not charged more than 75%. This was all done with it plugged into the ac adapter. Please help!

You read the article but i guess that you don't know what word SHOULD means!!! it doesn't matter whether you plug ur PSP to AC or not! you SHOULD have your battery be charged at least 75%! and then you decide either yo want to plug it it AC or not...

Duuuude, I have version 3.72. When I tried putting the update in, it said "The game could not be started. (8002014C)" AND the oeupdmaker shows up as corrupt data.....

Do I have to downgrade first? If so, how do I how do that and to what version should I downgrade to?

Hi all, i have just fixed my psp as it was broken for ages, now the last thing i had loaded on there was devhook 0.21 but these custom updates sounds much better than devhook. can i use them on my psp? my system is a 2.0 but running 1.5 i think thats right what can i do what are my options? please help.
